What is the status of your heart? While scientist refers to the function of a heart as that of pumping blood, traditional conversations refer to the heart as a place of thoughts, desires, and plans. Thoughts, desires, and plans are said to be manufactured from the heart of a person. Good and bad thoughts come from the heart.
In line with this view, Jesus once said “You snakes—how can you say good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. (Mat 12:34 GNB). This carries the idea that the mouth is the door to a person’s heart because he speaks what is in his heart. It is also true that some people are skillful in hiding what is in their hearts. While they are full of evil plans to destroy others, they are able to say good things and pretend as if they have good thoughts. Naturally, people are selfish and want what is best for themselves only. They want to see themselves succeeding while other people are failing. This is what I can call the sickness of the heart.
The only thing that can save people from the sickness of the heart is the word of God. That is why Jesus in John 15:3 said “You have been made clean already by the teaching I have” (GNB). You need a clean heart in order to see God. To see God means to experience his revelation and appearance in your life. You are able to see God in your daily walk with him. Being able to see God will affect your career, the way you relate to your family, and what you do in the community. God is revealed through those people who see him. You need a pure heart in order to see God, and you need God’s word to purify your heart.
Make a commitment to have a clean heart from today so that you can see God every day.
The bible in Mat 5:8 ESV says “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
See God.
Stay blessed.
