When there are two extreme opposing groups, some people prefer to be in the middle of both groups. In this way they will fall on the winning team all the time and avoid the pains of losing. They are always on the winning group. They support each group when they are with them and oppose the group that is not there at the time. Such people cannot be trusted because they do not have something clear that they stand for.
The followers of Jesus need to take a clear stand. It’s either you are the true follower or not a follower, and there should be no middle ground. The luke-warm kind of Christians wants to participate in the affairs of the unbelievers while at the same time want to be counted as a true believer. Jesus wants true followers who takes their cross of shame and follow him every day. If you try to get the benefits of both, Christ will spit you out of his mouth. Take a clear stand and be counted.
Rev 3:15-17 Says “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! (16) So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. (17) For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.”
