Forgive for your own sake

It is common to hear somebody talking about how he was hurt by others. You might sense some bitterness as he narrates the bad experience he went through. Forgiveness is about pardoning the wrongs that people committed against you. It is about clearing them and counting as if such wrongs were never committed. If you were angry and bitter against a person for the wrongs he did against you, your bitterness and anger should stop once you forgive a person.

Nobody is perfect, even if you count other people’s wrongs and you want them to be exposed, you have your own wrongs that you want to be hidden. God has set a condition for clearing and forgiving you from your wrongs. You need to forgive those who do wrong to you in order for God to forgive you for the wrongs you have committed. The danger of not receiving forgiveness from God is that He will not answer your prayers. *In Isaiah 59:2* the bible says your sins are the reasons God does not hear nor answer your prayers. Your sins cause a roadblock between you and God. Even if it is not easy, you need to practice forgiveness for your own sake. You cannot experience breakthroughs in life unless you forgive. It is the forgiveness that you give to others that will be given to you.

*Forgive for your own sake, and forgive for the breakthrough that you need*.

The bible inMat 6:14-15 CEV says “If you forgive others for the wrongs they do to you, your Father in heaven will forgive you. (15)  But if you don’t forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

*Forgive for your own sake*.
