At the beginning of each year, many people prepare what is called, “new year’s resolutions”. Mostly these outline what an individual wants to achieve before the end of the year. These may include physical body improvement, change of lifestyle, income improvement, doing something for the community, etc. New year’s resolutions without action plans are just wishful thinking, and new year’s resolutions with actions plans become goals.
You should not set goals that are heavily dependent on someone doing something, but set goals that you can act on them. Resolutions of being promoted, getting a new job might end up being wishful thinking since you might not be able to promote yourself or give yourself a job in someone else company. You need to focus on those things you can do, and not on those things that depend on others. Similarly, it is not enough to wish things should go well with someone who needs help without acting, but you should do something to make a difference. Wishful thinking will not change your life and the life of those around you but the implementation of set goals will do. You need to set clear goals for what you want to achieve, set a time frame for implementation and work on your plan. You need to be the doer of good things, not just a wishful thinker.
See what the scripture says in
James 1:22-25 MKJV (22) “But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (23) For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man studying his natural face in a mirror. (24) For he studied himself and went his way, and immediately he forgot what he was like. (25) But whoever looks into the perfect Law of liberty and continues in it, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work. This one shall be blessed in his doing.”
Be the doer, not just a wishful thinker. From Simtandile Dlepuma. Stay blessed.
