THE ORDER OF CREATION

THE ORDER OF CREATION

Gen 1:6-8 And God said, “Let there be an expanse… And God called the expanse HEAVEN.
Gen 1:10 God called the dry land EARTH.
Gen 1:27 God created MAN in his own image; male and female he created them.

God’s creation is in order. God created the space called heaven (the sky, atmosphere, space). Then He created dry land called earth. Then He created man (male and female). This is the order of creation: the heaven, the earth, and man.

The heaven serves the earth in many ways. Gases in the atmosphere trap heat from the sun – this keeps the earth at a comfortable temperature and prevents it from getting too cold. Without the atmosphere, rain would not reach many parts of the earth. The heaven was created to serve the earth.

The earth serves man in many ways. The earth serves man with food, clothing, and shelter. The earth was created to serve man.

God created the heaven first, then the earth second, and then man last; so that the heaven will serve the earth, and the earth will serve man, and man will serve God. The purpose of the heaven is to serve the earth; the purpose of the earth is to serve man; but the purpose of man is to serve God.
Exo. 8:20 “Thus, says the LORD, ‘Let my people go, that they may serve Me’”.
