Gen 26:5 …Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Abraham was a man of obedience – he obeyed God. When God commanded Abraham to get out of his country – Abraham obeyed God. When God commanded Abraham to send away Hagar and her son – Abraham obeyed God. When God commanded Abraham to sacrifice Isaac – Abraham obeyed God. Abraham was a man of faith who obeyed God.
True faith produces obedience, and obedience proves that our faith is valid. Christians who are true believers desire to obey God. If we love God, we will obey Him. We won’t be perfect in our obedience, but our desire is to submit to the Lord and display good works. We do not obey God to be saved; but we obey God because we are saved.
Obedience to God is always for our good and for God’s glory. Greatness in the kingdom of God is measured in terms of obedience. Obeying God is in our best interest.
OBEDIENCE. From Paulos Moloi. Stay blessed.
