YOU MUST DECREASE BUT CHRIST MUST INCREASE
Joh 3:29 …Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.
Joh 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
John the Baptist was the most significant and well-known prophet in his time. He was the first person to be used by God after more than 400 years of divine silence since the prophet Malachi. He stands right at the end of the Old Testament and at the beginning of the New Testament. His preaching was the end of the Law and the beginning of the Promise. He preached with anointing and power of Elijah.
John the Baptist was chosen by God to be a forerunner to the Christ. He introduced Christ to the world as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Moses, Isaiah, Micah, and all prophets predicted the coming of Christ but could not see Him. John the Baptist is the only prophet who predicted the coming of Christ and had a privilege to see Christ in the flesh. Therefore, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist (Mat. 11:11).
Despite being the greatest, John the Baptist was a humble man who rejoiced in humility. He says my joy is complete in that I must decrease. John the Baptist was becoming less important and he was happy about it!
You can be very popular and successful; but remain humble. Let humility overcome your pride. Allow ‘self-importance’ to decrease and die so that Christ can increase and live in you. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (Jam. 4:6).
YOU MUST DECREASE BUT CHRIST MUST INCREASE. From Paulos Moloi. Stay blessed.
