Make God Your Shield

Peace be with you

Ephesians 6: 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

It is with no doubt protection is very important. The Police and soldiers are part of the team that protects the Society from the law breakers. They themselves also need protection hence they wear breastplates and carry the necessary weapons. Parents protect their children from harm; businesses have security measures in place, etc. This is physical protection, but it does not guarantee safety. Many people in the police force have been injured, some to death. Children also get kidnapped, raped in the presence of their parents and businesses are robbed. This tells us that there is a force in operation over and above what we see with our eyes.

Ephesians 6:12 tells us about this force, the spiritual battle. For example, at work you hear that people have been gossiping about you, at church it is not better, at home also there are conflicts. You could also suffer from internal conflict emanating from personal pressures, for instance not having enough to meet your needs. All these conflicts can be directed at you at once. Some people find themselves entertaining suicidal thoughts from the devil.

This is the time when you need to remember you have a personal protector God. He Himself becomes your ever-present Shield. His delivery starts from your destructive thoughts by bringing you hope and peace. He repels external arrows and leaves you feeling safe.

Romans 8: 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
