Peace be with you
Colossians 3: 1) since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2) Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
It is beautiful and amazing to know that we have been raised with Christ. Especially when we look at the following Scriptures: Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
Psalms 51:5 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us 1 John 1:10
The above scriptures are a few of many that reveal our true nature. It is clear that naturally, holiness is far from us. This means that we need to put an effort in order to be transformed to what God has called us to be, but on our own, it is impossible to do this.
The key is in the book of Col 3:1, setting our hearts on things above.
Our minds are occupied by a number of things around us. However, to continually occupy our minds with work (job), the movie we watched on TV, the incident at our neighbor’s house, the taxi driver who cut you on the road, etc, is a choice. The Bible encourages us to meditate on the Word of God. The more we spend time reading God’s Word, the more our thoughts are transformed, what we say and what we do will tell all around us who controls us, God. We will be transformed inside out.
God bless you
