What do you do when you hear that a well-known person has fallen into a sin? The common response is to spread the rumors’ about bad news to others.
When it comes to other people’s sins, errors, mistakes, it is easy to make their issues a discussion point with whomever you meet, but when it comes to those sins that involve you or your family members, or your love ones, you want their sins to be hidden. When it comes to other people’s errors, you shout about it, you exaggerate it, you want the whole world to know about it, but when it involves you or your family member, you don’t want it to be discussed. When you act like this, it proves that you are a hypocrite.
Don’t be part of exposing other people’s faults, weakness and errors when you are also not perfect. Strive for your own perfection first, and you might be in a position to understand others weaknesses and difficulties. *You should be sympathetic to those who make mistakes, as you know that you are not perfect also*.
Mat 7:3-5 GW (3) So why do you see the piece of sawdust in another believer’s eye and not notice the wooden beam in your own eye? (4) How can you say to another believer, ‘Let me take the piece of sawdust out of your eye,’ when you have a beam in your own eye? (5) You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye. Then you will see clearly to remove the piece of sawdust from another believer’s eye.
*Be sympathetic to those who make mistakes*.
