*Find time to rest*

1 Kings 19:3 Elijah was afraid[a] and ran for his life. ….4… sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors

Elijah is a prophet who performed many miracles and was very successful in his time. 1 Kings 18 records how he killed 450 prophets of Baal. But the next chapter reveals that he ran away as he was threatened by Jezebel.  The scholars reveal that Elijah was over-exhausted.

Physical, mental, and emotional fatigue will lead you to depression. To remain the best in what you do make sure that 1) Plan ahead and prioritize your needs. Do what is necessary and within your power. 2) Stick to your daily plan and carefully evaluate the emergency before you attend to it. 3) Learn to trust and work with other people and do not over-commit yourself. 4) Allow people around you to be your support. 5) Commit every minute to God and give yourself time to rest and recharge.

Prayer: Lord Jesus help me to find time to rest in order to be the best in your ministry and in other areas of my life, amen.
