While some relationships are as a results of our choices, others relationships happen because some people wanted to be part of us or part of our team, while others relationships are forced on us because of some circumstances. When you join a new company or organisation, you might find people there whose character you don’t like. You might find yourself working in a project with people you do not enjoy working with because of constant conflict and differences. In this case, it is circumstances that are forcing you to work with people that you find it difficult to deal with. How do you deal with such occasions? How do you communicate with difficult people especially when flight, fight and silence is not an option?
The best option is for you to choose to communicate and do it well. Your need to learn the skills of intentional communication. It is the way of crafting and using your communication to achieve your desired outcomes with all people, whether they are your superiors or subordinates, and whether you like their characters or you don’t like it. Even when relationship is not by your choice, you can still choose to communicate and do it well. You need to be intentional and have the right attitude to communicate with all people.
