Be firm and stand your ground

Sometimes when a compromise agreement is reached, everybody becomes a loser. A compromise by its nature means a person who compromise does not get exactly what he wants, but part of it. In certain situation such arrangements are disastrous. It is better to have something or not have it at all, if compromising will lead you to losing your key values. The Lord Jesus warned the leader of the church of Thyatira that tolerating sexual immorality was going to lead to great disaster.

What do you do if the person practising sexual immorality is your friend, or your great supporter? You better stand on the side of God than on the side of people. It would be better for you to lose a person than to lose God. Don’t tolerate sexual immorality even if those people are providing financial support and other forms of support to you. God has not forgotten, and soon he is going to deal with the situation. Be firm and stand your ground irrespective of what you might lose or the backlash that you might experience.

Rev 2:20-23 Says “But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols. (21) I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. (22) Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, (23) and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.”
