Strive to please God than people.

A friend of mine just told a story, where he took his car to a workshop to be fixed. He was given a quote of R2500, while looking at the quote, a technician came to tell him that he could do this job at R500 only if they do it outside the main work shop. He was tempted to take the R500 offer, but saw it as corruption then he rejected, which he ended him paying the full amount of R2500. Car drivers are likely to be caught making a mistake on the road. If the traffic officer gives you a ticket for an offense you committed, and also gives you an opportunity to bribe him/her, what do you do? Accept the offense to pay the ticket in full or bribe the officer and pay just a fraction?

Test and temptations are always around us, and they come in different forms. Sometimes it feels awkward when you reject to do what everybody is doing around you. You might have pressure to want the people around you to accept you even if it means doing what is not acceptable to God. Before you commit in doing something, you need to ask yourself a question: which acceptance is more important to you? Is it, that of people or that of God? Don’t do things to be acceptable to people only to be rejected by God. Even when you are under pressure strive to please God than to please people.

See what Jesus said to the leader of the church of Sardis,
Rev 3:4-5 Says “Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. (5) The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.”
