Hunger and thirst for righteousness

What do you understand by the terms justice or fair?

Some people are happy when they get what they want no matter what it cost. Such people do not care if some people will lose their lives or suffer as long as they get what they want. God’s desire for all people is that they should know him and prosper in life (Deut. 28:1-14, 1 Tim. 2:3-5). So nobody was created for suffering and pain. The bible does guide us on what we should do when we go through sufferings and pains, but it does not mean we were born or created for it.

In as much as we want what is good and fair to be done to us, we should want the same for others. When we see other people suffering, or injustice being done on them we should pray for that to be corrected. We need to have God’s desire in us. We should want what God wants for others that is Justice and righteousness. See what the scriptures say in Mica 6:8 (ESV)“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”

It is therefore upon each and every person to have the desire of God in him. You should not be the instigator of people’s pains and sufferings. You should not be the oppressor, but you should be the one who helps people to thrive and succeed in life. Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness will be satisfied. That means God will grant them the desires of their heart. Your desires and wants need to go beyond your own personal needs, to the welfare and the needs of others. You need to remember that righteousness is not about you, it is spiritual, and it is about what God wants. Do your best to work towards righteousness, and then you shall be satisfied.

The bible in

Mat 5:6 ESV Says “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Hunger and thirst for righteousness. Stay blessed.
