Let your light shine

Let us imagine a teacher and students in a classroom. A teacher’s role is to teach, influence, instruct and guide all students in his classroom towards certain concepts. He achieved his goals when the students can demonstrate their understanding and abilities to implement what was taught. A teacher is like a lamp that shines the light on his students in the classroom.

In the same way, the disciples of Jesus Christ were expected to be like a light in the world. Their light should shine through the work they do, the preaching they make, and good deeds.

You are the disciple of Jesus Christ, and your works and your words should make people see the goodness and love of God. People should experience the goodness, grace, and love of God through you. What you do and what you say should make people glorify God. So your light should not be hidden but should be in a position that all people should see it. The talents, gifts, education, and experience that God has given to you are not just for you to feed and support your family. You are supposed to let your light shine throughout the world. Your stage is no longer the classroom but the world. Let your light shine.

Mat 5:14-16 CEV  You are like light for the whole world. A city built on top of a hill cannot be hidden, (15)  and no one would light a lamp and put it under a clay pot. A lamp is placed on a lampstand, where it can give light to everyone in the house. (16)  Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven.

Let your light shine.
