Peace be with you
2 Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, v4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
As our country continues to fight against children and women abuse so we play our part, a very important one. We pray for our nation, but also show compassion to all around us. Since we have Jesus’ DNA it is easy for us to be compassionate as He is. Verse 4 says He comforts us in all our troubles so that we will also comfort those in trouble. Being compassionate should be our attitude.
Psalms 86 5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you….15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
King David experienced God’s love and compassion from a young age until his last days on earth when he passed the kingship to his son Solomon, We hear great testimonies about him, killing the most dangerous animals in the wilderness, Goliath the Philistine, he defeated many nations and, we also hear about how he fell into a shameful sin ended up being a murderer. But also he showed love to Mephibosheth (2 Samuel 9:7)
It is amazing to note that David experienced such love yet Jesus had not ascended to earth. We are born by the Spirit and the blood and it should be within us to be compassionate.
Be compassionate today. It is your mandate.
God bless you
