An enemy is a person or a group of people who actively oppose or are hostile to someone. While you might be having enemies, you might also be acting as an enemy to others if you forcefully oppose or you are hostile to what they do. Being an enemy to someone is within your control as you can change your attitude and the way you deal with them. It is not desirable to have enemies also. God loves you even if you are an enemy to someone, hence he also loves your enemy.
How do you deal with people who oppose you, oppress you, and are actively hostile to everything you do?
The bible tells us to love them and act in love towards them. Loving a person who continuously inflicts pain on you is not easy. However, remember the life you live is no longer yours, it belongs to Christ. The way you respond to people mistreating you should still make them see the love of God. Your life is like a mirror of God, people need to see God in you in times of your affliction. God should be glorified through everything you go through. God our Father loves you and loves your enemy, you need to love what your Father love. *Love like your Father*
The bible inMat 5:43-48 CEV says “You have heard people say, “Love your neighbors and hate your enemies.” (44) But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who mistreats you. (45) Then you will be acting like your Father in heaven. He makes the sunrise on both good and bad people. And he sends rain for the ones who do right and for the ones who do wrong. (46) If you love only those people who love you, will God reward you for that? Even tax collectors love their friends. (47) If you greet only your friends, what’s so great about that? Don’t even unbelievers do that? (48) But you must always act like your Father in heaven.”
*Love like your Father*.
