Work for divine reward

It is common to see people doing good to others in order to receive it at a later stage. Giving and doing good is like an investment. People choose where to invest their money depending on the potential of where they can get good returns. People giving in this way do not give to the poor since they have no potential of paying them back.

If you give to rich people, they are likely to pay you back in different ways. If you give to the poor and make it public, the public might pay you in different ways including by praising you. If you give a good gift to the poor in secret, God the Father will reward you for it. While people’s reward is temporal, Godly reward will benefit you now and in eternity. The Godly reward will benefit you, your children, and your descendants. Giving to the poor in secret as a lifestyle is a sure way of accumulating your heavenly reward. Don’t make your giving to be a show-off, but do it for the Glory of God.

The bible inMat 6:1-4 CEV Says “When you do good deeds, don’t try to show off. If you do, you won’t get a reward from your Father in heaven. (2)  When you give to the poor, don’t blow a loud horn. That’s what show-offs do in the meeting places and on the street corners because they are always looking for praise. I can assure you that they already have their reward. (3)  When you give to the poor, don’t let anyone know about it. (4)  Then your gift will be given in secret. Your Father knows what is done in secret, and he will reward you.”
