Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
The author of the Book of Proverbs is King Solomon, the son of David. He is known as a king who ruled the Israelites with great wisdom. And we also know that he asked for wisdom from God, the Creator of mind. Proverbs 16:3 reflects on how King Solomon himself lived. But what should encourage you more is that this is the inspired word by God and therefore it is alive. When you apply it in your life it shall be effective.
New Year’s resolutions are promises that you make to yourself to start doing something good or to stop doing something bad. Many people will write them down and track throughout the year if all is going according to their plans. At the end we hear great testimonies of how people achieved their resolutions. But also many people will decide on the New Year’s resolution but forget about them a month later and fall back to old behaviors.
It will appear that the key in successful New Year’s Resolutions is to commit them to the Lord because only He will establish them. It was at the beginning of his reign as a king, when Solomon asked for wisdom to lead the Israelites. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. 6 Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight (NET).
You are responsible to make plans for your life but what will make them successful is aligning them with God. Success of your plans is guaranteed when you commit them to the Lord.
God bless you
