Proverbs 6:9–11 - “How long will you lie there, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.”
There are many Bible Scriptures that encourage you to work. The above verse tells of the results of a lazy person. Whether you work for someone else or self-employed your attitude towards your work will determine your success.
You are most likely to succeed when you 1) Commit your plans to the Creator; 2) they must be achievable and realistic. Planning to fast for 40 days when you have not fasted for 3 days is likely to fail. 3) Plan ahead; consider having short, medium and long term plan. It is possible to plan today for 2030 and beyond. 4) Seek support; Exodus 12:17 talks about Aaron and Hur holding up Moses hands until sunset. Asking for support is not a sign of weakness. 5) Celebrate your success today, acknowledge God’s intervention in your situation, appreciate and praise Him, give testimony of what He has done. 6) Keep reviewing your plan, acknowledge challenges and be flexible. Many can confirm that their plans were changed when Covid-19 broke down. “Nobody told me that the road will be easy” song by Mary Mary encourages you not to give up.
Remember Jesus was born to you (Luke 2:11), always with you through thick and thin. He walked this journey and He understands your weakness. Do not beat yourself up in case you fail. If you did not yet, start making your plans for the years ahead.
God bless you
