Genesis 2: 25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
God created Adam and Eve and became their friend. Their relationship was ruined when they became disobedient to Him and ate the fruit that was in the middle of the garden. Even though they fell into sin God still loved them. Genesis 3:9 says that God called Adam. God knew where Adam was and what had happened but He wanted him to acknowledge his status. In order for Adam to reconcile with God, He had to admit the wrong he committed.
The beginning always brings an opportunity for a fresh start. At daybreak, God’s mercy takes over to give you new hope (Lamentation 3:22-23). It is the sound of motivation, a call to correct and improve past mistakes and failures. Many Christians during this time of the year engage in different types of fasting and prayer in order to set a tone for the year. This is the best time to reconnect with God.
Daniel and his friends in Babylon acknowledged their status of being in captivity They acknowledged the sin of their ancestors and realized their loss. But they refused to yield to that situation. They sought the Lord with fasting and prayer.
Did you make serious mistakes in your life this past year? Do you currently feel defeated and unworthy of God’s love? Return to God today, forgive yourself, and surrender to God. The same way God called Adam, He is calling you today. The Bible says that Adam and Eve were naked and they felt no shame. God knows your nakedness and it is no shame to Him, therefore return to Him.
God bless you
