Ephesians 1: 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
In the movie called The Overcomer, a 15-year-old girl is raised by her grandmother. The mother died from drug abuse and her father abandoned her. She grew with bitterness. She had asthma but loved running cross country. Her misery came to an end when she accepted Christ. She read Ephesian Chapters 1 and 2 and extracted her identity from those Scriptures. She met her father 6 weeks before he died and she forgave him. Despite the circumstances under which she was born and her health problem she won a race because of knowing who she was in Christ.
Life struggles are inevitable. You did not choose the circumstances under which you were born, whether favorable or not but you are blessed, created in God’s image, chosen by God, and you are made holy. You are adopted to be the son of God. You are blameless and you are forgiven, it does not matter what the devil whispers in your ear. You are wise and full of understanding; you know the mystery of His will.
Do not let the circumstances under which you were born (poverty, disability, the color of your skin, family problems, etc.) dictate your identity. Do not believe any less about yourself. You are an overcomer. Write this down as one of your New Year’s Resolutions and you will overcome.
God bless you
