Financial Management (1)

Proverbs 10: 22 The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

Money is an important part of our lives, it is no wonder we find many Scriptures in the Bible teaching about how to handle money correctly. When handled the right way people flourish but when wrongly handled a lot of stress and anxiety arises. In most households there is unhappiness and when you look closely you will realize that it is due to failure of handling money correctly, sadly many cases end up in divorce court.

The Bible teaches us the Godly principles of managing money. 1) that we must work in order to earn money and gain wealth (Proverbs 10:4). God blesses the work of our hands and 2) His blessing will make us rich (Proverbs 10:22). 3) Proverbs 13:11 Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time. 4) Proverbs 22:16 One who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and one who gives gifts to the rich—both come to poverty.

The formula to receiving God’s blessings is ensuring that you use your hands to earn money. When you seek quick ways of making money are calling poverty to your family. When you gain wealth from deceiving and oppressing other people, there is no blessing from God. Honesty and integrity in handling money will guarantee God’s blessing. When a blessing is from God, there will be no sorrow with it.
