Proverbs 22: 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Parents have a responsibility to train their children in all aspects of life. Financial management is another area where parents need to instill in their children from a young age. Children need to learn to take care of their environment from cleaning themselves to cleaning the space they occupy. It is a good practice to get them to do certain work and reward them. God intended for all of us to work before we earn a salary.
When they have earned a salary, no matter how much it is, they need to learn how to spend it. This is when they learn to pay ten percent and other offerings. They need to learn to delay gratification in order to plan and eventually get what is more rewarding than yielding to instant gratification. When they are grown they will understand the value of money and will be encouraged to work and perform to their best in order to have good earnings. Teaching children the correct attitude about money will help them to be disciplined in other areas of life. They will be honest and easy to rely on.
Bringing up children in this manner will definitely limit corruption and criminals in our country. You cannot change the whole village or community but if you start in your family you shall surely save a few souls. The Bible says train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
