1 Peter 1: 13 Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.
The topic of Christ’s return on earth does not seem to be the one we hear about frequently lately. I guess we truly live in times of Matthew 25 where Jesus himself taught about the arrival of the groom. We are very much like 10 virgins who all fell asleep. I hope that you will be like the wise virgins.
I am a little troubled this morning as I had a dream about Jesus’ return. As you know details of the dream are not always vivid but I cannot shake this feeling of being reminded that we are here for the time being.
In the past few days, we shared about holiness. Holiness is our lifestyle. It is not seasonal but our everyday living. Normally we are always alert and keep away from dangerous objects like fire, we are careful when we use knives, etc. We, in the same way, need to be alert about the coming back of Jesus. I would love to hear the sound of the trumpet on His return with everyone however we all know that there are also individual times for our departure. Whether I hear the trumpet with everyone or I depart sooner I need to be ready.
The Bible says God’s love and compassion for us are made new every morning (Lamentation 3:22) and therefore you must set your hope on the grace and hold on to it. Jesus’s return is sooner than you think.
God bless you
