*Have faith in Jesus alone*

Paul’s painful disappointment with the Galatian church was so unexpected. He had spent time teaching them the truth, and they had demonstrated their full acceptance and understanding of the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet when the false prophets came and misled them they were easily led astray.

False prophets are skillful and persuasive, they easily confuse people and plant doubt in their minds. People who used to have faith in the Lord alone start to have doubt and believe in the flesh and material things that seem to supplement faith.  You don’t have to mix your faith with tangible material things, but you should trust in the Lord alone.

See Paul’s expression demonstrating his disappointment with the Galatian church in

Gal 3:1-5 ESV (1)  “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. (2)  Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? (3)  Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? (4)  Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? (5)  Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith—”
